I concetti di razionalità e razionalizzazione nella sociologia della musica di Max Weber
Abstract
Max Weber takes credit for introducing the concept of "rationality" (and the related notion of "rationalization") in the sociology of music, an idea that characterized and pervaded the work of the German sociologist. After his death, his wife Marianne collected the notes of Weber's lessons and she gave Die rationalen und soziologischen Grundlagen der Musik to the press, the essay that conveyed the concepts of rationality and rationalization in the sociology of music to so many people, including countless scholars who would draw inspiration from them for their own research.
